Bob, I think Exxon will be good in the southern part of the trip, as will Shell. Some of the guys from down there will probably chime in here. Personally, I carry a Phillips/Conoco, a BP, and a VISA.
Actually ours is a Target Stores VISA (good anywhere like any VISA) - once per month, if you've spent at least $100.00 (which is pretty easy filling up 2 cars for gas each week) on that credit card they mail you a 10% off coupon good for 24 hours - starting whenever you want so if you forget something you can go back too. Good for anything and everything in Target Stores (even the Super Stores with eyeglasses, etc.) so we do major shopping for the month (laundry soap, paper products, cereals, etc.,etc.) once per month using that and weekly small runs for groceries anywhere else we want for meat, milk, and other stuff. Easily save $20.00 - $25.00 for that trip and the wife still cuts out her coupons too saving even more.
We get the discount and they get a loyal customer.
From a pure business point of view - wouldn't it be a cost savings to the company to consolidate your gas charge cards into a single card that you only used to purchase fuel with? That way the business office would only be paying one bill a month and you would be able to select the station with the best prices each time you needed to fuel a piece of equipment?
I charge all my gas on my Discover card so that I am not "looking" for a particular brand - just one that has Ethel :-[
Me, I just use a credit card (M/C or Visa); speaking of gas, I think gasbuddy.com, among other sites, has a link to gas prices....as far as pumping Ethel..... :o
