  • Downshifters of Brooklyn Veteran's Hospital Car Show

Nothing like a car show to remind you about humility and diversity!

I am sitting beside my car watching the people walk by. These two guys hurry up sort of excited to look at the wagon when I hear one of them say - "Is that a Rambler?" and then about 3 feet away one of them notices the Ford emblem on the grill bar and say - "Oh it's a Ford" and they turned around and walked away without another thought. :'(

I would have been happy to talk to them and let the believe it was a Ramble - afterall the first block I ever windowed was a 6 cylinder in a 60 Rambler Cross Country wagon with a pushbutton automatic.

Then this young kid is walking by with his dad and as they pass by he asks his dad "Why would anyone want to hotrod a minivan" :o

Happens all the time. I have a buddy with a '63 Chevy 409. Original owner. Kid walks up and says, "is this your car?" Buddy says, "yessir, it is." Kid says, "do you know what year it is?". Buddy laughs out loud........and says, "yessir, it's a 1963 Chevrolet 409".
I can understand the kids questions, but the adult know-it-alls are a different story, aren't they?
BTW, that is a nice Rambler minivan, Allen......... ;)

My parents had a Rambler wagon...I remember going to the drive-movies in it and drinking Nesbitt orange pop. Those were the days! ;)

Hey when I was in High School, many moons ago, we had Ramblers for driver ed cars. ;D. They didn't look like Allens Rambler though. ;D
It's not the destination, but the journey and the friends you make along the way that counts.
