I will be contacting the VA Home in Daytona Beach after the 1st of the year, then will let everyone know the plan for Friday the 3rd.

We've had more rain in a week then we get all year. And with us being so dry all year,the rain just soaks in until it can't take anymore,and everything goes to hell. Lets of flooding and road problems..I heard the Mammoth Mountian Ski Resort got up to 23 feet of snow. We got over 11" at our house.. Welcome to Southern California. This is your snow storms and tornado's..But where I live we are in very good shape. But my new backyard got a good testing and worked out just fine. I did have to pull some water out of the pool because the rain was coming down faster then the overflow drain could work. But thanks for asking. I think Arizona got hit harder then we did. But all is good today,sunny and in the 60's.

On a side note, I took the liberty to contact the Cocoa Beach VFW Post 10148 asking if any of my fellow VFW members can suggest a local Cocoa Beach veteran hospital of convalescent home. I'll let you know what I hear.

Thanks for the input Chuck! Traditionally we can't go to a "hospital" because the patients are too ill to be able to come outside and view the cars, which is why we chose a veterans home. Last year Jim and Maureen put together a fundraiser Friday night for a local Honor Flight at a restaurant. Maybe you can work with them to spear head something like that this year.
