    Ok freaks here's the skinny on our VA Home visit for 2011:

    Friday June 3rd 1pm-3pm

    Emory L. Bennett Veterans Nursing Home
    1920 Mason Ave, Daytona Beach, Fl 32117

    Requested donations:
    1) sound amplifying headsets (they have these at Radio Shack)
    2) CD players
    3) CD's of gospel, country and oldies music
    4) Hand held magnifiers
    5) Hand held games ie: solitaire, poker, etc.
    6) Travel DVD's for their "front porch travels" activity
    7) Karaoke CD's of oldies, gospel, and country music for their "sing along" activities
    8) Talking watches for the visually impaired Veterans (also found at Radio Shack)
    9) DVD/VHS player
    10) Pocket radios with headsets
    11) Checker board games
    12) Chess game
    13) Table top pin ball games
    14) Trivia books
    15) Puzzle books

    This is one of the best donation lists I have ever gotten! Please let me know if you will be able to make this stop on Friday the 3rd from 1-3pm. Thanks freaks, you guys and gals are the best!

    Thanks for asking Phil! Actually finally got an email this morning with the list of donations they would like. Didn't have time before work to post it, so will do that tonight. Looking forward to this visit!

    An update guys and gals...I've emailed my contact at the VA home twice and gotten no response. I even sent them the link to this thread. I will keep on them for a list of acceptable donations.

    I contacted a 2-3 places i could find online that had party rooms and they said since they are doing special parking and specials for the Friday Night Cruise night, they can not reserve anything like that. If anyone has any contact or knows any more info about restaurants in the area that could do something like this let us know. I am not the best at planning events like this, but am willing on helping out if there is someone that can help also.

    Are we planning on dinner location down in Cocoa Beach for Firday night were everyone can get together for the cruise night that they are holding? Like we did last year in Newton?
