A HUGE "THANK-YOU" to all the freaks that participated in this! We raised over $500 in combined cash, check and items from the list. While the checks have to be used on the veterans themselves, the cash donations can be used where needed. Teresa from the VA Home and I had a sit down in her office and came to the conclusion that the cash would be sent directly to the local veterinarian that provides discounted care for the 3 dogs, 7 cats, and 2 birds that reside at the nursing home. Teresa has the address for the SLP and lives only a couple of miles away, so she and her husband will try to make it over tonight to say "thanks" in person.

You all are the best and I love each and everyone of you!

    Linda

Just regular bags of UNPOPPED popcorn you get in any grocery store. They have a fancy popcorn maker I'm told. No microwave or already popped bags of popcorn. Hope that helps.

Won't be able to go to the VA home on Friday, but made a stop there today to drop off what we were donating. Spoke with the activities lady who I think has been working with Linda and I mentioned that at the VA home we all stopped at last year that unpopped popcorn had been on the list for donating. The lady said she was sorry that she didn't add popcorn to the list she gave Linda because they use a lot of popcorn too. She also told me they were really looking forward to the visit. BTW, it looks like a very nice place from what we saw and it's very easy to find.

We will not be able to make it to the VA home in time. We are leaving home later than originally planned so we can spend time with the grandbabies. We sent a care package to the home (including a check from MikeC), which will arrive before you all get there. Everyone have fun and we will see you in Cocoa sometime later on Friday.

I can vouch for Rett.... He is definitely not a Fruit and he surely is not Flaky, but driving from California does make him a certifiable Power Tour Nut.....
