Those Guys? I have the koozie around here somewhere.
You might be right. I was thinking it was 5 guys, but Donna said that was the new burger joint that opened here and I sometimes get my food and beverages mixed up ??? ;D Other than the girls promoting it, beer itself wasn't so memorable

Garlits Museum was the venue for the '99 East (my first) tour. He was walking around the place, signing autographs, and answering questions about the cars. As an added bonus, the Kentucky Headhunters were the entertainment for the evening.

I remember the 99 Tour well. It was our first Tour also. We planned on a two-day trip, going home after the 2nd stop in Carlisle, PA, but we were having so much fun that as we watched all the Tour cars leave for Gaithersburg, MD, we said........it's only two hours down the road and we can still get home that night......so off we went to Gaithersburg. Once there, it was my idea for me to take the train home.....I had to get back to work.....and Phil to keep going and be a Long Hauler. With just a little cash and only warm clothes....it was fall.....Phil left me at the train station, I took the red eye train home and he headed off to the next stop. He had to stop along the way to buy some shorts and T-shirts and had instructions to call me each night so I could hear about all that had happened on the drive and what was going on at the venue. I was so sorry that I couldn't be there with him so I lived the rest of the 99 Tour via telephone. I especially wanted to hear the Kentucky Headhunters. That's how it all started and we've both been addicted ever since.
We still have that big picture of the 99 Long Haulers hanging on our wall that was sent to us by Flowmaster.
You can get a group rate at the Garlits Museum if you contact them a head of time. Also on your way to Nashville (I-65) you can take a side trip to the Jack Daniel's Distilley in Lynchburg, TN and get to drive on some back country roads. I stopped there on my way to Newton for the 2010 tour.
Gwen,
One of my favorite "tour moments" happened during the Kentucky Headhunters show: One of the girls at the souvenir trailer was leaning wwaayyyy out over the counter while the music played. A guy asked her what she was doing.
"I wanted to see them play".
"You can hear them fine from here."
"But I wanted to SEE them".
"Lady, they aint all that damn that purty." ;D
