BRP 2011 "Spring Blooms" Tour - April 29 to May 1

We are starting to suggest dates for the next BRP Spring Blooms Tour.
I have confirmed that the first meet for the 2011 ECTA race season at Maxton, NC is on April 2-3, so we need to work around that date.
Last year we went on April 23-25, but this year Easter is really late on the 24th so that weekend is out.

How does April 29 - May 1 sound ?
So speak up and let us know when is good (or bad) for you !

last year we were kind of on the tail end of the blooms. how about the week of april 15-16?

Actually, Bruce, we did the tour before anything bloomed! Later would be better as far as blooms are concerned. It's colder up here, remember!!

We also need to determine the route.
What is left of the Parkway that we have not traveled, is from Roanoke (Milepost 120) to Waynesboro (Milepost 0),

The distances we have done so far is:

2009 Fall Colors
Cherokee (Milepost 469) - Boone (Milepost 290) = 179 miles

2010 Spring Blooms
Boone (Milepost 290) - Fancy Gap (Milepost 201) = 89 miles

2010 Fall Colors
Fancy Gap (Milepost 201) - Roanoke (Milepost 120) = 81 miles


I heard Terri talking about their doing another Friday BBQ Dinner at their place, but how we do that and start in Roanoke the next morning, I don't know.

it's called the "Blue Ridge Parkway Tour". i would at least like to see us finish the parkway first. after that, i would be game for what ever. run out of cherekee, across the park, down to the dragon. 8)

if the blooms are later in the year, then i am fine with the weekend after easter. i'm pretty flexable.

Since I'm planning on going to Maxton in April, I don't think I'll be able to slip away to get down there twice in one month. :'( I'm shooting for the fall event.
