Ford or Chevrolet Pick'm Up Truck

FORD or CHEVROLET pick'emup truck

its is time to replace my PU which has been a Ford Super Cab 4x4 since 1986
Have had 86,90,94,98,02,06 i run them to +-170K then they get passed down thru the company
last three are still being used
most miles close to 300K and Not good road miles
No engine or transmission problems in any of them
company has few Chevy PU's, brought them all used and no problems

I do like the LS motor
Its easier to spell Ford
Has to tow car hauler +-8000#
I have a 56, 65, 02 Chevolet

Bob, I didn't see GMC or the D word??
Yes GMC is about the same as a Chevy although it has always had better styling. The Duramax and Allison is a great combination. A friend of mine has Dodges with Cummins, wow! Plenty durable, amazing torque monsters. Good luck, let us know the result 8)

I've had a 94 F150 supercab and a 94 F350 crewcab diesel and both were awesome trucks, never left me on the side of the road and I towed with both of them. Ken and I have had a Chevy k1500 extra cab bought new in 99 and it was in the shop 17 times in 18 months for little things, but towed our 5th wheel like a dream. Our oldest son had a 2002 F350 crewcab diesel that he sold with 288K miles on it and it's still going strong.

You just have to choose the one you like best after figuring out which year you want. You can get a lemon in any brand! ;)

Check your local drag strip and the local campground. That will tell you what tows a trailer the best. I know around here no matter what races down the track, it got there by way of a FORD!!!

I had a hard core Chevy car guy tell me once...I will take any chevy car, they build good, solid stuff, but Ford trucks I can't argue with.

Myself. I love Ford. I am dedicated to the junk. :
Personally, I know this is nuts, but my Brother has a 2000 with the 5.3...pushing 235k and all that's been done is a starter.
I'd lean towards a diesel, choose your poison of choice.

Personally, I'd just go this route:
