My sisters King Ranch spit a plug out too. 5.4ltr with less than 35k miles on it. Seems to be way too common a failure, I'm surprised there isn't a class action lawsuit against Ford for this.
Of course she was out of town and it happened on a weekend. Was over $700 to fix it. Hope it doesn't happen on the 4.6ltr 3 valve heads as we have 3 Mustang GT's between the 2 of us lol.Comment

They changed the heads sometime in 2003 to have more threads in the plug hole. I don't think it's very common on the new motors.I R Bob
