I'm in! I toured it a few years ago after P/T when it ended in Kissimmee. There will be something to see there as NASA will be gearing up for the last shuttle flight, which is scheduled for the end of June. I'm not planning to race at the track in Valdusta anyway. As an added bonus, my van (which is still "plan-A" for this year) was used in a scene in the Apollo 13 movie. It just seems fitting.
Non-denominational car nut.
Ten Time Long Hauler! 2001-2011
Do you go all the way?
I really wanted to do this, but it's going to get us into Valdosta very late. Too bad. I have not been to the space center since before the space shuttle program started!
Looks like approx. 267 miles to Valdosta. If we leave by 11:00 after the tour we should be
able to roll into Valdosta in 5 hours at a speed of 55 m.p.h.
Your mileage may vary.

One more thing. Are Georgia and Florida on the same time?
Valdosta is Eastern just like most of Florida. When we cross into Alabama we'll go into Central, and we'll go back into Eastern when we cross into Indiana. That Nashville-Indianapolis journey will be 7 hours on the clock most likely. (if you follow the route)
Just didn't want to be late getting to Valdosta and getting the card stamped after
taking the extra time for the NASA tour.
Well, it's shaping up to be a 4.5 hour drive if you take fastest route, or around 5.5 hours if you follow the Power Tour route. Either way you'll make it to Valdosta in time, but I wouldn't stop long for lunch and gas if you don't get out of there until 11.
I put a post on Hot Rod's Facebook to find out what time we would get out and be able to get on the road. They were pretty quick last time I had a question to answer it..
I just love my Hot Rods.
Long Hauled 2009,2010,2011,2012 and 2013. Loved every minute of it.
Jane wants to do this Tour, bought the tickets yesterday.... They open at 6:30am, so we will be there then and just hightail it to Valdosta when done......

This is the responce I got from Hot Rod Facebook page..
"Hey Rett, plan is for the inside the fence drive to start at 9:45a and end no later than 11:00a It's about a 10 mile trip and since there's no traffic or lights to deal with it will flow smoothly. Was designed so everyone could get to Valdosta before the end of the cruise night there."
So if we go,it will be a fast drive up to Valdosta and we are in Adel which is even further. 294 by Google and that's the shortest way,310 is longer route..This equals 5-6 hours of driving time.We would get there about 5-5:30 with just enough time to park far away and check in at the main stage...But I'm with you Ed,I'd like to see this. Still thinking..
