  • Staying awake for the Long Haul return to Fl leg

Driving solo this is my biggest concern. Three things keep me awake.
    1. Driving faster than the speed limit,
    2. Eating a lot of sugar
    3. When 1 and 2 don't work, holding a $100 bill out the window.
    Any better ideas?

For me it's talk radio. Music puts me to sleep but talk keeps my mind engaged an in most instances of talk radio: enraged.

I like your number 3 choice though if I had a Benjamin to throw away I'd stop and get a room.

Just pull into a rest area and take a nap. I do it all the time - sometimes more that once a day. No shame in napping.

I don't plan to get back to Florida until June 13. Driving solo, I keep the driving hours to maybe 10. That gives me roughly 600 miles a day. Unless I find something interesting to see along the way and then less miles covered.

I'm doing the same. I'm planing on driving towards gatlinburg tn and then taking the blue ridge parkway to Asheville nc, then coming to Florida on Monday.
79 malibu that hopefully makes it for 3000 miles

Made it with no breakdowns, missing 2012

For the tour buy a set of walkie talkies and give one to the guy driving in front or behind

Try 5 Hour energy times 3 bottles and you will stay awake.

I agree with the 5 hour energy, but actually just 1/2 a bottle used to be enough for me, that's until I started drinking it every day!

Be sure to get enough sleep the night before. The effects of late night partying in the hotel parking lots will hit you on the way home. Been there, done that.
