Thoughts about Power Tour Cities for 2012.

I have looked at the start and the finish an I think this will be close.

Its a Route 66 Trip. From Chicago to Oklahoma City all Route 66.

    1. Detroit Mi. (somewhere)

    2. Stanton Mi. to Mid Michigan Motorplex (155 miles).

    3. Route 66 Raceway, Chicago-land Speedway, Juliet IL. (240 miles)

    4. St. Louis, Mo. Busch Stadium.(260 miles)

    5. Springfield Mo. Expo Center. There are Three Drive-ins, Sunset, Owen and Kenda. Wednesday Drive-in.
Nice Power Tour Drive-In Movie full of Hot Rods ( 216 miles)

    6. Oklahoma City, OK. Tinker Air Force Base (The Military would love the Power Tour) (285 miles)
Thursday Bowling- AMF Sunny, Holiday or Planet Bowling Lanes.

    7. Texas Stadium Arlington Texas. (212 miles) Total 1386 Miles.

    Just my thoughts.

1999 Ford Mustang GT convertible "Yellow"

St. Louis, MO would be a good stop, I lived in House Springs, MO which is just outside of St. Louis, would be fun to go back there for a visit.

Ted Drewes frozen custard in St. Louis on Rt. 66. Been there. The best! Went there with a few PT tour cars when PT did the Rt. 66 anniversary. Went there a second time on our way back from Osage Beach one year for a Fiero show.

It sounds funny, but it really isn't. I was driving through Oklahoma one year on my way to California and a storm was brewing. I was ok with it until I saw a funnel cloud. My husband said we need to get the heck out of here ASAP. Sure enough, on the evening news, there was a report about a tornado touching down.

Very true brother. All the parts and broken hardware were accounted for, so I stand corrected; I just relocated them... Ha Ha Ha!!!

Stillwater Oklahoma is definitely factoring into the tour guys. I have it on VERY good authority. I don't know if it's a pass thru or a stop but you will certainly see their city limit signs. With that said, I have confirmed the tour of my buddys shop, warehouse, "museum" etc ...

He says we can stop by during the day passing by his place just outside Stillwater or return later in the evening for a personal tour. He doesn't mind accomodating our group no matter how large or small. He's got mountains of literature, photos, documentation, prototype parts and one off factory experimental pieces from the big three. The real gems are the cars. Stuff you'll never see anywhere else including lightweights and factory race cars. He is very fond of Fords but has worked with Chevrolet ( most notably on the ZR-1 project ) and Lingenfelter. Even if you don't like Fords, you'll love this place just because of the history if it all.

If anyone is interested, we'll make it happen
