Would you help (attn: Hot Rod)
How many people here think it may be a good idea to at least "go through" Joplin, MO on the 2012 HRPT? If we can't stop there for the day/evening (HR should ask them right now), or how about at least setting the route to include driving through Joplin, MO so we can stop and buy gas there, eat lunch, maybe shop a little if possible, and/or just a donation jar (or 20) set out at a particular spot in this town? How many feel us "hot rodders" should help this area - if we can? Hot Rod, are you reading this?

Sounds good to me. As I stated in my other thread I think we need to use the large group of people to do some good. and you are correct in the fact us rolling into a city is a bit of a economic relief package -

Yeah, I think everyone would like this to happen. But I honestly don't think HRM will have much say in it....need to focus on Family Events, and even then, their choice of venues will be based on profitability, not empathy.

Assuming I can get the time off work next year for the tour I think this is a great idea. Even if the PT route doesn't swing through Joplin, what's to prevent a bunch of us taking a little detour ourselves?Comment
