I am planning on going thru Chitown on Wed the 4th so I can get to LR on the 5th & be there for the VA cruise.
why would you do that? head west and around chi-town....... a much more relaxed ride IMHO. :D
Mike, I will be on vacation, but still like a little challenge. Besides, gotta stop in Brewtown on the way & say hi to my sisters.
take 43 to 39 and down central ill. nicer ride ..less tolls...less traffic...better roads..... SHORTER DISTANCE! IMHO :D
I may consider that option. Time will tell for certain as the cash & job issues are starting to cause concerns.
Hauling ass & sucking gas are the best uses for a truck.

My plan is to leave the Chicago area on Wednesday morning, take I57 to Metropolis and stop. Get up on Thursday and get to Lil Rock.

Re: long haulers from chitown
It is a 12 hour drive from Chicago to Little Rock. I'm thinking of leaving Friday and stopping half way and then continuing the next day. Instead of driving 12 hours straight through.

Re: long haulers from chitown
We are leaving about 4am Sat. should put us in LR around 10am.
It's not the destination, but the journey and the friends you make along the way that counts.
