Just an FYI, the AAA rate at the host hotel in Arlington, the Hilton is only $88.
Do we have the dates for 2012 yet?

that's actually a pretty good idea.....might consider doing that myself at some of the stops.......rexdogg!Originally posted by The Chief View PostMy crew are running it differently next year, we will head out around 2pm on the saturday and drive so that we are around an hour away from the next days venue, then we can kick back and relax. No need for an 8am start and 4 hours driving trying to beat the clock to the venue, we can get up as we please and roll in with the early cars to the venue. We will then repeat this for the following days.
These 300 mile days are just to much for old cars as far as my group is concernedComment

Actually, I have started wondering (not to the pondering level as yet) what June would be like on the porch! Might be time to find another distraction as I am doubtful that I will pay $150 a night - that is ~$25 an hour to SLEEP!Originally posted by rexdogg View Post...."if you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch!" ......Comment

Its easy, KOA Kabins or state park Kabins typicaly $45 - $65 a night and you can have a camp fire as well, hell the Statepark "cabin" we had in birmingham last year was as big as a 2 bed house, with i full size king, 2 queens in the other room, full kitchen, bathroom lounge with direct TV, deck which was on the lake and i think it was $100 for the night. It was so nice we didnt want to leaveOriginally posted by cstmwgn View PostActually, I have started wondering (not to the pondering level as yet) what June would be like on the porch! they are not always as big as this but hey its an alternative to a hotel and a lot cheaper

I just booked the Fairfield Inn by Marriott on Hall of Fame Ave in Stillwater,OK.. Family Events said it was booked soild and Hotels.com had it for $90 a night or $102 with tax..I'm looking to do a few low dollar joints also..
Also,if you are booking through Family Events, they try to GIVE you two nights on every one I looked at. So make sure you change that to one night, Unless you are staying two nights, of course..Last edited by street72; September 26, 2011, 09:46 AM.
