I could be persuaded to 'pinch pennies' during the week (Monday night - Thursday night) a la Microtel if there are enough freaks bedding there for the night. My Microtel experiences have always been clean & safe. No Quality Inn for me, though, met some Valdosta cock roaches that weren't very polite!

If you're sleeping 6 hours a night while on PT... you are getting way to much sleep!!!Originally posted by cstmwgn View PostActually, I have started wondering (not to the pondering level as yet) what June would be like on the porch! I'm good with Fairfields, Days Inn, "clean" Super 8's. HI's and HIE's are usually good, however there are good lower priced rooms out there also. Depends on owners and managers, some Super 8's are great such as Topeka and Lincoln in 2008, Americinn's can be great also as well as some mom & pops that are taken care of.........No Knights Inn's for me, South Bend 2009 took care of that........200WINS HRPT Long Haul 2008, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 Bettendorf, WI Dells, 15 Champaign, Madison, 16 OK City, Wichita, KC, 17 KC, Newton

Bruce we had the room on the end on the bottom next to what appeared to be a "rents by the hour" room. We gave our keys back and went to the new Holiday Inn down the street. We also stayed at the Knights Inn at Bristol which was "ok" but old and drafty. No more Knights Inn's for us either.......Originally posted by cobra View Postsouth bend was definatley the worst. at least you didn't get stuck in the back like us...next to the resident crack head.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with the HIE's.
Rett and I stayed in a Super 8 in San Antonio area on the way back from Mobile in 2010. When a bunch of cop cars started showing up in the parking lot, we were definitely questioning the location.Dannie

Hmm.
Working Mel as we speak...{NOT that way Phil, Powertour, about Powertour}...
She may not be going to London after all because the shear cost of the flight and everything else.
I mentioned start in Detroit and end in Texas, and she sorta perked up a bit.
Going to need to build a fence first for the mutt, but things may be looking up.
She's like man, you REALLY wanna go again, don't you??
I was like, "well, yes. I enjoy wrecking the bulk of my vacation, and driving 4000+ miles in a car that gets 15mpg..."

I have reservations in Warren, Muskegon, Springfield and Stillwater. However, they are refundable if I cancel. I am staying at the Candlewood Suites in Warren at 58 bucks a night, Victory Inn in Muskegon at 50 bucks, the Lamplighter in Springfield MO at 80 bucks and the La Quinta in Stillwater OK at 80 bucks. I never use family events for hotels. I looked a couple of years ago and the hotel I had booked for 58 bucks was 129 through them...eek!Power Tour 2009, 2010, 2011
