So, who's starting the 'Hotel' thread?? Rates are probably already going up in Muskegon.

Talked with Craig from GM performance at Woodward last weekend. Starting at the proving grounds next year would be uber cool but not a chance in actually happening . His team had a hell of a time getting it to happen this year. That was definately a once in a lifetime event

Instead of Breakfast at Tiffany's we might have to try Waffle's at Williamston with a side of Bloody Mary's -

good idea.....hold the waffles, give me an extra Bloody Mary.......anyway, several internet articles re: the 2012 stop in Muskegon (apparently the city council jumped in right away to support the 35K fee to get the tour, and mytrain.com already has that stop listed).....now, where to stay in Arlington, TX? any ideas from our Texas affiliates?.........

I looked at the Shoreline yesterday (I wasn't that busy at work) and the room prices were way higher than last year when booking through Family Events. Might still book there then wait to see the FE rates when they come out. Best place we stayed this year!

I booked the Holiday Inn at the center of town right away. Without the Family Events discount, it's $129/night and we can cancel with refund right up until 6pm on June 3. If the Family Events discount ends up being significant, we'll book through them and then cancel the current reservation. I know we appreciated the covered parking last year when I had choke issues and it was raining! Also appreciated being able to walk home from the bar & burnouts at night... ;)

I booked the HI in downtown Muskegon and also down in Spring Lake as a backup. With my government rate, both were about $80. The best I could do at the Shoreline was $135.

I just booked Muskegon Holiday Inn. It's right in the middle of where we were last year. When I saw that hotel last year,I though that would be a nice place to be staying..

What's everyone thinking about Detroit..Van Dyke again?

We also booked the Holiday Inn in Muskegon and Holiday Inn on VanDyke, in Detroit. Called the shoreline this morning because we couldn't get the dates online and they said they only booked 90 days out and couldn't even give prices for June 2012
