I enjoy doing HRPT because I get out of the house and travel - hopefully to places I havent been and some I have. Its still fun, years ago I decided that the next time they went to Cali - I would be all in for that- they never went back I know there aint crap(many big cities) west of Dallas but they did it before. It went from about the Hotrods to all about the sponsors. GM is a Global company and just staying in midwest and ignoring the rest of the country is crazy. when GM was working thru their "issues" a couple years ago they pretty well dumped us -sorry no GM stop and we went to the lake, I thought maybe now someone else would drive the bus, but they hung in there. I cant remember what year that GM didnt bring their toy cars - so they had little to display- why didnt they find a few participants to represent GM and allow them the parking at GM's truck? I hate to say it but that was plain stupid of them. well I gotta go and look at a new Mustang
at least some good came out of it if we got you looking at Mustangs

we usually hit two or three junkyards on each power tour. this year we only had time to hit one. this one looks familiar, like one we hit on tour 4 years ago? that middle pic, do you know if that is a 49' or a 50' ford? can't tell with the weeds in the way. if it's a 50', do you know if it has the trunk lock? i need one bad.

I can't remember if you couldn't find one or you couldn't find one for a price you wanted to pay.

              My sister's first car was a 1968 Mustang hardtop that she got in High School with a 289 ci Windsor V8, 2-bbl (195 bhp @ 4,600 ; 288 lb-ft @ 2,600).

I tried to trade her my first car, a '67 Dodge Coronet for it, but she said "No way" !

I have Muskegon and Arlington (on Randol Mills Rd) booked both with two Queen beds. Not sure what my plans are yet for next year other than I'm going, but I may be able to share a room (at government rate).

Made our reservation in Muskegon at the Shoreline. Stayed there this year and liked it. Prices in Muskegon definitely went up.

Yes, I know and will see what Family Events comes up with. I actually booked through FE for this hotel this year. If FE comes up with a better rate I'll go through them again and cancel what I booked. Muskegon was the only city I used FE for this year. I was having a heck of a time finding a hotel there and finally gave up and used FE. We'll see what happens.

I too was having trouble finding a decent priced hotel (less than $130) in Muskegon and I'm booking for a group of us. I had found Fairfield Inn that was at $99, but when I called back they said they were not taking reservations because the HRPT comes through there EVERY year (lol) and the date was blocked off. I'm guessing Family Events did that. I got to the point that I was looking at hotels 30 miles away until I figured for the heck of it I would call the corporate reservation # for the hotel I just mentioned. I was able to get 10 rooms no problem AND they were $5-10 cheaper!!

Long story short, don't forget to try the hotel chain's website or 1-800 number for reservations.
