I know I thought I messed up my reservations the first trip several time.

You arrive on Thursday day sometime & check into the hotel (there will be other HRPT people there),

That gives you Friday to hang out (there is allot to take in) & meet the people look for the Bang Shift shirts)

Sometime that on Friday you can go to the venue (usually we decide at the hotel when we will go in a small group) & get your HRPT Goodie Package, they will also have the concessions open to get your HRPT swag.

You will then go back on Saturday for the Detroit day of HRPT. (you are giving me flashbacks of my first trip)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the 9th, you will go back for the "Long Haulers" event, you are free to leave after that. So it is up to you if you want to spend the 9th, back at the hotel and head out on the morning of the 10th (Sunday) my .02 worth is to stay the night & recover. (it is gonna be as hot as hell there, I did not have A/C though) You will feel more refreshed when you travel the next day.

Also you don't want to leave too fast, too many good people to say good bye to and have your picture taken.
I messed up last year (from in Detroit) because I had another event to go to in Canada and had to leave right away.

If your daughters dates are flexible, you may spent an extra day or 3 with some AWESOME people. A group of BangShifters went to someone else's house for a day and I missed out on that the first year because I planned on meeting some friends and family on the way n& could not change my schedule I would have rather hung out with the Bang Shifters..

    hope this helps.

OK I forgot who showed me, but make up a loose leaf binder with reservations and events of the day, get dividers to separate each day. Because you will forget what day of the week it is while you are there.
Also if there are any issue with a reservation you have it in paper (even though I did that last year I programmed the wrong Holiday Inn Express in Indianapolis in my GPS, and when I got there they said they did not have a reservation, I showed them my reservation & they said OH that HIE is about 20 miles away) the addresses were similar DOH !!!
Well I'll be darned Bill - you and I were the only ones who showed up at the BierGartern in Indy - you never mentioned the wrong HIE.

Also in Arlington, I have a room for the 8th and 9th, do I need the room for the 9th. My daughter lives in OK city and I am going to visit her after everything is over in Arlington.

I don't know if this would or could work. But first thing that came to mind was do a 3-way call. You could tell the hotel u want to transfer your room to whoever is on the other line and IF the hotel agrees to do that, u do your part of the info, then hang up (IF that won't disconnect the call??) so the person who wants the room can give the hotel their credit card info etc. Like I said, dont know if that would work or not but worth a try. OR u could call the hotel and explain what u want to do and see if they would accept doing it via a 3-way call; then place the 3-way call. Wish u well and hope u can figure something out

I went to Fenton, but.....some folks are going to Caseyville/Collinsville, some a little farther southeast to Fairview Heights, heard of some going into St.Louis (downtown area); been a while since a hotel list came out....
