Anyone have anything beyond just "Arlington" for the long hauler event? I remember last year at the long haulers the talk about Cowboys stadium & then that being somewhat squashed a couple of months ago because of the big concert there that night.

heard a couple of different things, for whatever it's worth: Arlington long hauler will not be at Quick Trip park, but somewhere else (?); and, Mid America Motorworks (Effingham, IL) will be a lunch stop between Champaign, IL, and Gateway Motorsports in Madison, IL....

anyone who wants a hotel in warren on FRIDAY and SATURDAY I have 1 room that are going to go to waste..reserved at the HIE that we stayed last year and didn't realize they are pre paid...they are on 11 mile, THE TOTAL IS ABOUT 150 INCLUDING TAX FOR BOTH NIGHTS!

This will be my first tour, that is if the snow continues to hold off. Three snow days will delay the end of school enough so that I will not be able to attend

Welcome 4 cam torino...Are you going to have it ready for this years tour?

I'm working on it. We'll see. The latest set back came when I put the fittings for the power steering lines on the rack. The oil filter could no longer be removed. The lines for the oil filter relocation are coming tomorrow. Just picked up the driveshaft yesterday. It's coming along but there is still a lot of work to do. Plan B if the Torino isn't done is a CTS-V wagon. Either way I've got a 6 speed Tremec to row on the trip.

I had given up on Champaign for a while and tried again today. Priceline still didn't work but checked out Hotwire. The hotwire 3 star deal hotel for Champaign is either LaQuinta or Country Inn and Suites. I wasn't willing to risk getting stuck with LaQuinta before for the price shown (there were higher guest ratings on cheaper lower starred hotels). Looking today though, LaQuinta in Champaign is full. So I pulled the trigger for the $66 3 star hotel on hotwire being pretty sure it was Country Inn and Suites and that is exactly what I got. So, nice cheap hotel for Champaign, get it while the getting is still good. I doubt you'll find a better deal on something fairly nice and it is less than $20 more than most of the 1 star joints.

It's just a room to sleep in for a few hours - I think I'm there too. Three or four beers bench racing in the parking lot and that room will be just fine.

I guess they try to vett out the riff raff before they allow you to post. Doesn't always work out though, as they let an awful lot of us in. I finally got to post an avatar, but it wasn't exactly the one I was trying for. Someday I will get it changed
