Last night I spoke to a friend who got his hotels through Family Events, and they told him the other 2 cities are St Louis, MO then Miami, OK - right by Joplin - like we asked for - to help out that area!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I figured St Louis was going to be in the running since other guys were pointing to the Gateway drag strip.

I'm not sure if they would have it in Miami OK...its a very small town and there are only a couple of hotels there. Absolutely no place to have 2 to 3 thousands cars. The only place in Joplin that could hold that many cars was wiped out by the tornado.

still think that springfield,mo. would be ideal stop. good driving distance and close to joplin,mo.. oh well i have rooms in all 3..we'll see which get used!

don't know about horse tracks, but....there was some talk that the tour would stop at Gateway International Raceway (GIR) in Madison, IL, just east of St. Louis.....GIR closed recently, was sold, and was just re-paved (in anticipation of a 2012 race season)......it seems that the tour stop between Champaign, IL, and Miami, OK (who the hell ever heard of Miami, OK?) is still up in the air.....
