Since this is the Hotels thread, I'll tell you that I confirmed all my rooms and I'm glad I did. They had one stop, the only one I booked with Family Events, as a king bed..Not good for two guys..And no California jokes here..But all got fixed and we are good to go..

not good for two guys?......well......anyway, I'm in the process of confirming all of my rooms..........all looks good so far (with the exception of a disappointing surprise at Miami).....

Since this is the Hotels thread, I'll tell you that I confirmed all my rooms and I'm glad I did. They had one stop, the only one I booked with Family Events, as a king bed..Not good for two guys..And no California jokes here..But all got fixed and we are good to go..

You really should do at least one or as many as you can. I have the best of intentions but usually only make 2 or 3 due to hotel locations or meeting locations not easy to get too. Sometimes I'm moving a little slow the morning after too. That first drivers meeting is usually well attended. If you go to any of them it's a good time to clean your truck, B.S. with people, take pics and enjoy the moment as they say. If I don't like some venues or the in and out routes or lots of miles from my hotel I usually skip those.

Did we make a wrong decision staying in Wixom on Saturday night?... no where near the route? Cruise night in Warren Saturday night.. and drivers meeting in warren Sunday morning?

Anyone going back for the drivers meeting?
where is everyone else picking up the route?

I was trying to decide what to do also. My hotel is in Farmington Hills, kind of in the middle of everything. Since this is my first tour I think I'd like to attend one of the driver meetings just to know what they are about. I guess I'll do the first one and decide from there whether I'll do any more. Of course that could all change when I get there and talk to some of your tour veterans.

Good question! When the rumors of the Proving Grounds came up we decided to make reservations in Wixom but hold onto our Detroit area reservations "just in case".

We don't usually do the drivers meetings but we may go ahead & go to the Sunday morning one because I would think that the run out of Detroit might be a good one. Probably not much traffic on Sunday morning & it should be well promoted locally. We may see if we can figure out a way to stay in Wixom on Friday night & go back to the Warren area after the show & stay there on Saturday night. But only if it makes it even more complicated.

best western cimmaron stillwater,ok. has rooms. pricey but avail.

Now that the official route has confirmed that it will run closer to Tulsa than Bartlesville, I've booked my last hotel. Hyatt Regency in Tulsa for $43 thanks to Priceline. We'll drop down from there and catch everyone has they come through Beggs
