Opening Date of Gateway Int'l?

I was just perusing hotels in the vicinity of Gateway Int'l and on one of the pages it said Oct 2012 wud be the opening of Gateway. Has anyone heard this or other info as to when it will open? Would PT still go there if it was not yet opened? Thanks for any info

Their facebook page and other sites have other events listed well before October, but no official schedule has been released. They just repaved the dragstrip a couple weeks ago and I doubt they'd do that for HRPT fun runs only, or for just one NHRA event nearly a year later. Most of us local to STL are planning on a full season of drag racing happening there for 2012.

They've just announced there will be a Monster Mopar Spring Fling June 8-10 there, which is the last weekend of HRPT.

I think it's safe to say it will be ready to open earlier in the week for the HRPT should that rumored stop become reality.

By the way, apparently it will now be named "Gateway Motorsports Park".
