agreed.....and there is a track in western Missouri, Mo-Kan Dragway in Asbury, MO (about 30-35 miles from Miami, OK) whose owners are thinking about opening, if there's a sufficient amount of interest (it's on the run into Miami, OK); there's a post on it on the board......and, for those who might be interested, I'm told there are two "junkyards" alongside I-55, one just south of Springfield, IL, the other just before getting into the Madison, IL-St Louis area, both of which have old muscle cars (some rustier than others, I suppose)...

And here is an update to the first one...

We will be having an Experience Woodward Cruise Night in Ferndale on Thursday, May 31 . This is the community that started the Woodward Dream Cruise to raise money for a soccer field. However, people have been crusing Woodward for years as the city expanded to the northern suburbs after WWII- My mom raced a '55 Mercury Monclair, when she wasn't driving her brothers '54 Corvette (which he still owns). I am working with the City of Ferndale (9 mile)to coordinate a police escort north on Woodard into the other communities like Berkley and Royal Oak (got check out Duggan's Irish Pub) and Birmingham, which play a major role in the August Event.

Also just announced, The Lingenfelter Collection which includes over 200 cars and keeps around 145 at their facility in Brighton Michigan are planning to open the collection on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m..

There will be no charge for Hot Rod Power Tour participants and are located approximately 6 miles from the GM Milford Proving Grounds. They are planning to open the collection on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m.. There will be no charge for Hot Rod Power Tour participants.

Check out Autopalooza.org for more information.

well, the one stop is at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL; there was a post awhile back that maybe the owners of Mo-Kan Dragway (Asbury, MO, about 45 miles from Miami, OK, and just north of Joplin) would open up if there was enough interest, but....the run from Gateway to Miami, OK, is a long one; even if they did open, would there be enough time?....don't know about other tracks, maybe some other folks know....
