  • Remember When........New Car Brochures

Phil sent me this link to find New Car Advertisments.

Look and see if your first car is listed, for me it is a 1966 Chevrolet Impala. I got my car when I was 15, had some help, built a mean 327, found a Muncie 4 spd, gathered up some stuff from the old Stock Car parts pile. Cloned it into an SS. Although not as fast as I probably thought it was, and certainly not any kind of show piece, that car was a total BLAST!!

Cool web site. It will help to waste a rainy day tomorrow.

ps., I think everybody here knows how I feel about the big boats in the original post.

My first car was a 61 Buick special I paid $25.00 for and had to re-wire it the lady that owned it caught it on fire and burned the harness up,but did'nt hurt the rest of the car. I found any peice of wire I could to re-wire the engine conpartment and got it back running. I was 11yrs old.

My first car was a 63 Impala SS convertable. 327, 4 speed. White over white with a red interior.

And here is the one that I regret selling to this very day 70 Nova SS, 396, 4 speed, Factory 4:10 gears, bench seat, heater and radio delete.

My first car was a 68 Nova 6cylinder, 3 on the tree. Man did I abuse that thing. I kept it a few months and traded it for a 72 C-10, I made a couple hundred on it and sold it at school and rode the bus home. I then bought a 75 Nova with a bad motor. My dad built me a 350 and we put a 4 speed in it. I kept it for years and went through a couple of engines and several transmissions.

My truck was a 307, 4 speed with a vertical gate shifter. It was orginally a 3 speed, but someone before me changed it. That shifter was cool, as you could really lean on it.

My Nova had the bucket seats and console just like the one in the ad.

None of my Buick's :*( The Thunderbird ones were kinda lame.

                      Firebird though.

                      Escaped on a technicality.
