Included doing the existing heads, assembly of the short block, all parts including pistons and crank, boiling and boring the block (it was a mess). Tim does a good job for a reasonable price.
We got the heads on, fuel pump and bottom closed up, intake cleaned up, on Sunday.

That's gonna be nice....so.....you should start an 'engine build' thread and you and boB could post to it so we can all compare Ford and GM engine builds.........

got news on the engine for the black t/a
it's going to cost a little more than expected, so i guess no
    fall tour.
besides a new crank, it's going to need to be bored 30
    over, which means new pistons.
good news, it will be a fresh motor and have a few extra
    horses

it should be done in a week.

was waiting in the detroit airport sunday and decided to call my buddy to see if i scored the 351W shortblock i wanted for the 50'. good news - i got the 351W....bad news - the engine in the black t/a went boom.

was over to his shop today. can't really figure out exactly what was the problem, but am guessing the 10" of gunk all over everything had something to do with it. it had very good oil pressure on the engine stand, and ran fine at low speed, but i guess it couldn't handle hiway speed.

wiped out two bearings and two rods. cylinder walls, pistons look good. took it over to Tims (mr. crankshaft) to have him do the bottom end and heads. still don't know how bad it is yet till he pulls it apart and tanks everything.

    it's always something

got the t tops back on the brown car. i'll leave them on awhile to try and get the rubber compressed. drove it. it ran good except after it warms up it seems to have a fast idle. i think the more i drive it, it should straighten out a little.

my buddy has the drivetrain in the black car. the brakes are done. he drove it around the block. need to put the inner fender in and some interior parts and it will be ready to go up for sale.

    brown car
got the rear seat and console back in. got the front seat backs dyed. tried to fit the t tops. they didn't fit too well with the new rubber...didn't fit at all. i'll try and loosen the pin holders all the way up and slowly work everything back down...hopefully this will work.
