I didn't want to see the GAS thread this year and maybe the high prices would just go away.. $4.21 at Costco yesterday..San Diego is the highest price for gas in the nation,so says my local news..But the good news is no matter where we go on the Tour, it will be cheaper..Loked up Gas Buddy and found gas in Oklahoma and Texas to be about $1.00 cheaper then San Diego. I guess we have to pay for our beautiful weather somehow..
I just love my Hot Rods.

Long Hauled 2009,2010,2011,2012 and 2013. Loved every minute of it.

I just sent that to a pile of people in an email - classic!

I sure am glad I got a pontoon boat with a 40HP 4 stroke on it - atleast we can cruise that all day and not go broke.
There's always something new to learn.

Rett, I think LA is higher because I paid $4.49 a few days back in LA county....and the price is still going up everyday I drive by the gas stations.

Is that really true ? I remember 2009 as my first Power Tour Long Haul and my wife worrying (it's only money honey!) about gas prices and they were up to near 4 bucks in June - from $1.78 in January - I think we have a little stretchification going on here with the numbers. If it is true that's a HUGE jump in a short time.

This topic doesn't make anyone happy but like everything in life it is a fact. I remember in '09 and '10 around this time we and the media were talking about gas hikes heading into Memorial Day weekend and it didn't stop any of us. Won't stop me this year either.
Thanks for not reaming my *ss about this posting.

I have heard that the gas prices on the left coast are higher because you guys are getting hosed (pardon the pun) on state gas taxes. The same reason that they are even higher in Europe. Which is why the "what are you complaining about - our prices are higher than yours" argument from other countries is pointless. They are just getting screwed with higher gas taxes.
