Last year before PT, Mom bought me a nice all aluminum jack that I carried with me. Nice and light. ;)

If you're going to bring the floor jack... bring plywood to put it on on the side of the road. It'll work great in parking lots though most of the really bad problems happen on the side of the road.

Carrying a floor jack means you have a Wagon or PU

we carrry a Bottle jack and a aluminum jack stand

I dont worry about breaking down when I am on Tour because of the FREAKS,
its the 1250 miles going in one shot at night.

I managed to fit a cheepo Autozone jack and stands into the trunk of the Riv but I was also carying one of our bags in the backseat. It can be done and no the Riviera barely has more trunk space than the standard A-body does.

does it have anything ti do with the SIZE of the Rear Tires on the Wagon?

I wish I could get in on this conversation on what I'm carrying in my trunk, but first you have to have a trunk. ;D
It's not the destination, but the journey and the friends you make along the way that counts.

It's a good idead to make sure your license plate is current. I remember one year sitting by the car in Memphis chatting away. I happened to at the plates and noticed they had expired. Needless to say we did the Long Haul on expired tags. It's the simple things that will get you.

Note to self: renew plates this week.

Ding, Ding, Ding - we have a WINNER ;D

I takes about an hour to get a rear tire off - you have to disconnect the coilovers and sway bar - thus the need for jackstands and a floor jack.

And yes, I carry 1/2" plywood squares for the stands to sit on should I be doing this activity off-road.

An assortment of metal adjustable hose clamps, in 2005 between me & a farmer sitting on the side of the road....we were able to help a "Long Hauler" outside of Springfield, MO get his custom Colorado going after he broke the rack in pinion on his truck. After getting going he only made it 3 miles to rest stop only to discover the oil pan was cracked too......luckily the car hauler pick them up & brought them into Springfield where they able to get parts from St. Louis to finish the tour.

If you are changing out hoses & v-belts now.....keep the old one for spares on the trip.....you may not need them but you might run into someone who will : I can tuck mine in engine bay area. I will a 2-ton jack because it came in handy in 05.
That steely eyed look I had behind the wheel was me trying see..........
