Some pics of Mike & Susies minor breakdown................
South of Muskegon (side of the road) to Champaign to Belleville, Illinois to a happy ending in Dallas. Since I can't seem to figure out how to put a caption below each individual picture.........................
-3 - On the side of the Interstate south of Muskegon.
- Loading the car onto a volunteer enclosed trailer that stopped to help. Sort of. According to Mike later, he hauled it to the Lane stop but was pimping them for money most of the way.
- Reloading the car onto the Pilot Transport truck after the Champaign show. They graciously volunteered to haul it to the Madison show. Mike had used his AA membership to get it towed from the Lane Automotive stop to Champaign.
&7 - Lot's of ganging up on it at Rod & Kelley's garage in Belleville. Rod brought his trailer to the Madison stop & hauled it from there to his house in Belleville.
- Jim instructing a young observer on how to use a magnetic tray to keep from losing removed bolts. Guess what? It didn't work!
- Waiting for the guys underneath to finish battlling the cast iron powerglide.
- Mike & Susie holding out hope that all of these crazy guys can make it work again.
- Is it free? Not till the second try.
- The old engine coming out.
- The new engine is rolled around the corner.
- Laura snapped this picture of the arch long after dark when we took Susie to their hotel on the west side of St. Louis. Around the time that the bars were closing. The rest of the guys, who were staying on the Illinois side of St. Louis, ended up working until 4:00 in the morning to wrap it up.
- Happy Trails - Mike & Susie in the '58 leaving the Long Haulers event in Dallas.Last edited by 67 Malibu; June 18, 2012, 06:44 AM....when you got a fast car, you think you've got everything.

Hey sorry about the freudian slip on the Triple A membership, Mike. I meant to say AAA instead of AA. Which we both know is Alchoholics Anonymous.Last edited by 67 Malibu; June 17, 2012, 08:45 PM....when you got a fast car, you think you've got everything.
