Any new rumors?!?! I heard, and it was from a "good" source, that the PT tour is going to start in one city and end in another city..... I know, crazy right!??!!sigpic

I heard it will also have 5 other stops between those two cities. Sounds like another fun Power Tour!Originally posted by Bucky67 View PostAny new rumors?!?! While i have not been a big participant in the PT (long hauler in 07, started out for it in 10) I also get frustrated by it constantly being in the midwest and back east. So, I dont participate as much as i'd like to. For 2008, the tour was very similar to the 07 tour so I put on the 2008 Western Scenic Tour. Our route began in Las Vegas, headed through Zion and Bryce National Parks, the Grand Tetons and the tour ended in Yellowstone National Park. Perhaps if there is interest, we can do it again for 2013?Life is too short to drive boring cars!Comment

bearphoto - How about some more details of what you're thinking?? What time of year, how many days, how many participated last time, etc.?? We've been considering a New Mex./ Colorado area for a trip but would consider other areas if it something is being put together.Originally posted by bearphoto View PostWhile i have not been a big participant in the PT (long hauler in 07, started out for it in 10) I also get frustrated by it constantly being in the midwest and back east. I'm also thinking of doing a different trip, especially with rumors that may end in Charlotte, too far for me ...This trip through the National Parks would be cool, always wanted to hit Yellowstone....Originally posted by 65longroof View Postbearphoto - How about some more details of what you're thinking?? but was also thinking a West Coast Tour for my Camaro group first week in August next year from like Seaside, OR back down the coast and through redwoods, stop in Napa or SF, down through Carmel/Monterey to So Cal, ending at Pomona NHRA Museum & Pomona Swap Meet...
Bearphoto, definitely interested in something different, more of a driving tour, with more sight seeing than the Power Tour...if you get enough interest, would be a good time....Dannie

I've been waiting for over 12 years for a western PT. I now realize that will never happen again and most likely will not do another PT.Originally posted by SoCalCamaro View PostI'm also thinking of doing a different trip, especially with rumors that may end in Charlotte, too far for me ...This trip through the National Parks would be cool, always wanted to hit Yellowstone....

I'm also more interested in a driving/ sightseeing tour too. Personally I think the PT has become too big and not enjoyable because of the numerous traffic jams you encounter along the route. This years first day was insane. The 216 miles took us over 7 and a half hours to do.
Bearphoto, your route sounds great. It's a route that I dream the PT would do. If you need help with planning I would like to help. Not sure what I could do, but the offer is there.
Although next year's vacation plans have been made. After two PTs in a row the wife wants to do an ocean cruise to Europe next summer.
It would be fantastic if some one could set something like this up as an annual event.Last edited by 67Cutlass; June 19, 2012, 12:33 AM.sigpic

I vaguely remember Chad Reynolds formerly doing at the Car Craft Summer Nats more or less what Clarence now does on stage during Power Tour. It wouldn't be as big as Power Tour so obviously wouldn't require the same resources but could there be a Bang Shift Tour of some sort officially organized that would do this?Originally posted by SoCalCamaro View PostI'm also thinking of doing a different trip, especially with rumors that may end in Charlotte, too far for me ...This trip through the National Parks would be cool, always wanted to hit Yellowstone....

Chad actually used to emcee the Power Tour. I want to say he did it for at least 2 years, maybe more.Originally posted by 4 cam torino View PostI vaguely remember Chad Reynolds formerly doing at the Car Craft Summer Nats more or less what Clarence now does on stage during Power Tour.
