There are 2 schools of thought here.....the Bucky move is a smart play seeing they might give us a easy drive day to Chattanooga before a hard drive day to Charlotte.....meaning after 6 days a lot are ready to see the end and will push it just to get there and I speculate they will possibly go up I-59 to Gadsden/Noccalula Falls over to Ft. Payne/Little River Canyon in Desoto Park onto Chattanooga......but if they choose to go north through Blount Co to over to Cullman through Arab to Ft. Payne into GA near Ft. Oglethorpe near the Battlefields into Chattanooga......the latter could be a headache through Birmingham.....people this is just pure speculation but what drive would you like to take.........now Im wating for Bucky's 2 cents.....lol......Last edited by 383S-10; July 6, 2012, 12:11 PM.That steely eyed look I had behind the wheel was me trying see.......... -

my 2 cents - bummer they choose Chattanooga to Charlotte Speedway in one day. Now you have to make a choice between an awesome drive through the Tennesee and North Carolina back country or take the Interstate (316 miles is 4 hours) to get to an awesome venue. No long hauler consideration in that decision.nom de guerre - arrowhead from joysey

Thank You Bucky and 383s10, this is the kind of info we need from 'locals' about where to stay, where to avoid(ghettos), and traffic concerns.
And from ">>head"'s last post, it looks like the last day we will have to get up EARLY.Comment

That's just what I was thinking, that would be a beautiful sight to see, I think I'll leave Chattanooga Thursday evening and stay the night about 40 to 50 miles down the route and then get up early. That should make the drive to Charlotte alittle nicer. Something to ponder over the next 10 months.Originally posted by bishir View PostI think a guy who left early enough to see the sunrise from the smokies would enjoy the last day's drive quite a bit. Big Dave nice idea you have there and i think i would like to do the same.......but I just hope they don't hold out on giving out the planned route like they did for 2012(less than a fortnight(dang Wembledon)).....if they dont this could be a Power Tour where a lot people choose an alternate route than they have planned..........Originally posted by Big Dave View PostThat's just what I was thinking, that would be a beautiful sight to see, I think I'll leave Chattanooga Thursday evening and stay the night about 40 to 50 miles down the route and then get up early.
