Same old arguments, but it ain't gonna happen. participants donot count for anything. get used to it. or leave it! only when people stop registering and going will they be heard. that may not turn out positive for the event.

Chuck, take your emotions out of the decision making..lol this is a corporate p.r. tour not car tour. ( MARKETING) . people from all over have told me the midwest and east coast to some extent; is the most active car area in the world. thats why it is held centrally.( DEMOGRAPHICS) right Rhett?

I would love to see a west coast tour! never been to the west coast and would surely go if possible at that time.

Finally, the best thing that can be done is; make the best out of the people and amount of fantastic cars and people brought together in one place, use it to your advantage and do with it what you will. MIKEE

Mikee, I agree with the majority of your response. Unfortunately, nothing is going to be changed unless people speak up. You have to start somewhere even if it's on an internet forum. I applaud people like TJ, aka NERR, who started rod runs of their own. They kept their missions simple -- drive your favorite car, meet people and take time to see the sights.

Family Events really should listen more to their customers because that is good business sense. For example years ago, Family Events booked hotel accommodations for their participants with the policy of not allowing refundable cancellations. Enough people grumbled and recommended to others online to avoid them. I believe now that policy has changed.

When 2000 - 5000 cars show up at every stop...why would they change? Your voice needs to be louder than the crowd at every stop...the long haulers paying a registration fee - the one day registrants paying $30 a day. If 500 people register for one day, that's $15,000 per stop - I would guess that happens now, going to the same areas every year. If the sponsors want that, I would guess that's the way it goes. Figure it out - it's become a profit deal.

Doesn't matter to me. I couldn't care less where the stops are. I'm there to see all my friends and some cool cars. If there's some sight seeing involved, it's just an added bonus.

Seems like this argument has been going on for years, a probably will for years to come.
It's not the destination, but the journey and the friends you make along the way that counts.

I suppose only the very best speculation should be a sticky......and National Enquirer gets shelf space at Barnes & Noble.

also as far as money fueling the tour, what would you suggest as an alternative......Capitalism Rocks!

Oh wait, we could all chip in and top his $30,000.00 buy in and pay them not to take pictures.

Bring on Colorodo, Wyoming, the Dakotas, Montana or even New England. I miss the people I have met in the past, but if I am going to shell out over $3,000 for a vacation, lets see something new.

You got that right Patrick! Hopefully within the next few weeks a few crates of sunshine will be filling my garage

Seriously, why is everybody so wound up about where the tour goes. If it doesn't blow your skirt up, don't go. I haven't heard of too many people basing their decision to go on where the venues are. That's really not what it's about. If there are places I want to drive my truck to, I have 51 other weeks in the year to do it.

With in the next 2 weeks

This evening at the closing stage show Freibuger announced that within two weeks Jerry Pitt will make a live announcement (web cast) of all the stops for next year. He said the exact date and time of the web cast will be announced on the Hot Rod Power Tour Facebook page and on hotrod.com

Also, the Arlington CVB (Convention and Visitors Bureau) announced the Tour will start in in the area but the exact location has not been determined. He hinted it wont be at Quicktrip but instead at Ranger or Cowboy stadium

                              My two cents:
They will re-announce what we already know, the Tour will start in the Dallas/Ft. Worth/Arlington area and end in ????? and announce the basic route between. This also makes me assume the rumors in the beginning of this thread are probably true !!! I don't think they will actually announce the entire Route city by city. They probably know some of the potential mid-stops.

See all you Long Haulers at 8am at Quicktrip

Wow.. isn't that way to soon to be announcing it? don't they usually like to keep everybody guessing much longer than that?
