Why so many "bag chair" places?

What is there to do in Texarkana, other than sit in a bag chair while some corporate type gives stuff away . . . or somebody starts another impromptu burnout-fest?

then just 145 more to Little Rock
    Another "bag chair" venue . . . .

, and then only 140 more to Memphis..........?
at least there's a drag strip.

Then to end it with 315 miles through the mountains to get to Charlotte?

    Arlington, Tx
    Shreveport, LA
Watch the pine trees and wipe off the humidity in your "bag chair" . . . .
    Jackson, MS
Huh? What's the attraction? The Casey Jones Museum? Krystal Cheeseburgers?
    Birmingham, AL
At least they've got a race track
    Chattanooga, TN
Johnson city, TN or Asheville, NC
Not sure what there is to do in these Villes, either.
    Charlotte, NC
There ought to be plenty of stuff to do here.

Casey Jones Museum is in Jackson, TN, not Jackson, MS. If the stop is in Jackson, MS you will be busy making sure your car is not stolen!

Just an FYI for the group. Arlington area is the start, Texarkana, TX has been contacted for Sunday night, Little Rock is Monday night confirmed. From there, most likely Memphis, and the suspected route to Charlotte. The first two are from a very correct souce. (Little Rock, Texarkana)

This sounds way more legit. Asheville is an amazing place, lots of awesome roads to drive through there. Birmingham would suck as far as the heat and humidity. probably the hottest stop I've ever experienced, all those tall trees just held in the humidity.....
As a point they have done Memphis to Little Rock before in 07 or 08.....and this year Miami OK to Stillwater OK.....so distance isn't always a determining factor....

Very true..... Agree 100%. If distance was a factor, one would have to ponder why the Madison, IL to Miami, OK run. That was a haul.... Just glad I didn't do it.... Ha Ha Ha!!

Your first post and you seem to know all the details? Who is the masked man hiding behind the "gotcha" name? Your info is just like all the rest right now... rumors and hopeful wishing. LOL!!!

FYI for the group...Northeast in particular.

Northeast...you are correct, first post on this site. The info is accurate. Definitely on the inside of this one. Texarkana has definitely been contacted about being a host city. (City is working on details) Little Rock has already been contacted and signed up. The option is that Shreveport would also work. Coming out on I-20 from Arlington would be a straight shot to Shreveport and a better venue. (Casinos in Bossier City). You can head N. out of Shreveport and catch I-30 in Texarkana or bypass Texarkana and hit I-30 at Hope, AR. About 220 miles from Shreveport to Little Rock. Monday night will be Little Rock. I think you will know the rough details much quicker for the 2013 route. Several of the last posts should be very close to the final route.

It would be nice but, you need to be more to the power tour daily mileage. Arlington, Amarillo, Albuquerque, Colorado Springs, Ft. Collins, Laramie, WY, Salt lake, Vegas. But we all know that HRPT will never run even close to the west coast. I think it is almost like kryptonite.

Wow, ya'll just need to quit complaining. If you don't like where Power Tour goes next year stay home! Power Tour is about the drive and the people you meet and all the small towns we drive through along the way. This year was great. So many towns we drove thru had crowd's on every street corner watching the cars drive by. I love travelng thru small town america and seeing the countryside, cornfields to stawberry fields and everything in between. Thanks to all the Bangshifters who helped make this year and great trip.

Yup i agree, don't like the route then don't run. for me this years route didn't interest me enough to find the extra money to fly my ass 5000 miles across the world and drive my car even though i had friends at both start and finish I'm tired of Illinois as are my group. Depending on the official route for 2013 we will either run the PT or do our own thing and head up to Montana from Missouri

WOW...I am going to start my response the same way. I haven't even looked at the computer since "my vacation" started. I had to look at the top of the screen to make sure what sight I was on after reading some of the posts. I thought Bangshift was more upbeat and positive than some of the other sites out there. Rant over. Thanks for letting me vent

Hope you had a great time Danny. As was said earlier, if you don't like the route, venues, etc., make your own. Afterall, it is YOUR hard earned vacation. Some people seem to have trouble enjoying themselves unless a crowd is also involved. Donna and I try to enjoy ourselves whether it is just us or with up to a few thousand of our PT friends.
