We are at the Holiday Inn Express Joliet. Plan is to drive to Chicago Thursday morning, google says it's about a 10 hour drive. Plan to leave after the races Sunday and chase the sunset home. Probably take our 92 Grand Prix, not much for true street......... Maybe?? Justin's car is not quite done yet, need to finish the fuel system.

Yup Willard is here and Jeff has an orange camaro. Bad Fast!! Rained some Friday and delayed first round of qualifying. Didn't make it through all of second round due to midnight curfew. Kevin Mitchell took a violent hit in the wall after the traps, then an oil down of trans fluid took us to 11:45. Heading back to the track soon.....

What a weekend!! When we got to the hotel there were a couple of Power Tour cars in the lot. Sinbad with the blue 65 Chevelle that has rear fender flares was there, he was helping out Edelbrock for the weekend. Sunday Gary "4dfide" had his Camaro in the car show. It was HOT and little shade but all worth it. Sunday we stayed for the final rounds of Heads Up plus super stock and E85. That was about 6:30, they still had True Street, NMCA/NMRA Race for the Rings and finish the bracket race. 8 hours later, home safe and sound at 2:30 this morning. Three days may have been a little too much for spectating but if you want to see it all, it takes all three days with qualifying rounds on both Friday and Saturday. Maybe next year if all the stars align we could go and run the Open Comp class. More fun to participate!!

what a surprise to see you there ! I cant believe the times those guys were putting down with the heat ! 6 flat @ 250 WOW ! My Camaro took home its first award . Its the first time i put it in a car show. Only did that so i could have safe parking with a cooler close by ! oh and that twin turbo 57 you have a pic of is a very good friend of mine Mario Orsini. That thing hauls butt! He's a shoestring racer , only two guys helping him when they can . Instructor at UTI

When we arrived in Joliet we had some extra time, so we ventured downtown Chicago to find the "Beginning" of Route 66 at Adams and Michigan Ave. Surprising to me was that getting around downtown was pretty easy..........Aside from the traffic and people everywhere.......

On our way to Joliet we stopped by Iowa 80 Truck Stop. This was there "Truckers Jamboree" weekend. We met Rob from "American Trucker" show. Pretty cool to see all the shiney and antique trucks on display.......
