Great Pictures Sean!! Is the L sign an actual marker and is this on a bridge? I assume this is eastern Iowa?? Avalanche looks great, really like the wheels!!

          Thanks George
The sign is posted at both ends of the bridge commemorating the 75 anniversary of the highway
This was located about 30 miles west of Clinton

Went around clinton and fulton doing some more research on Highway 30...
              Original marker in clinton

Down in front of the old dealership in lyons district in clinton

old picture of what used to be in the area

Retasked bricks from Hwy 30 looking south at the location of the original onramp

Looking north were the bridge turned to go across the river

looking west where the bridge came into fulton

              looking west across the river

              In fulton

East of Fulton where the original lincoln highway (136) merges with present day highway 30

It looks like Power Tour 2014 route could run The Lincoln Highway. Even if it does not, a few of us are going to run it in Ohio, Indiana.

Please post up sections of the road that are a must see while we are in the area. What would be cool stops along the way.

                    Thanks,

                    Lars

Cool pics! I love finding and exploring old road alignments!

I grew up right beside US 67 aka "The Broadway of America",but it was way past the road's prime. I-30 replaced it as the main road from Dallas to St. Louis. There's still some pretty cool monuments from the past along the route though!
