Having trouble getting the bolts out. When I jacked up the car I noticed the rf wheel is loose might need a hub/bearing.
Shop said bearings would be over two hundred. Jegs has yukon kit for $129 and another brand for $145 with the crush sleeve ring gear bolts, etc... My axles are Yukon and they are pretty good.

If you pound a small chisel through the head of the lug nut all the way around it crimps the jacket to the core and then you can use a socket to remove it. But like I said it has to be hammered on and then you have to get them apart. It cost a hundred dollars to "rent" the torque wrench. If I return it I get all the money back on my card. If I want one amazon has the same one for $60 just have to wait for delivery. Don't really need it TBH.

Got the car all back together not counting the splash pan and I need a bunch of plastic rivets for the smaller pan that attaches to the nose. Got everything done and torqued. Magically its not any better/different than it was before. Then its probably something else, but it sure feels like its the wheel. Oh well just ignore it and it will go away I guess.

Got the last lug nut off. I stuffed grease in the socket and shoved a big bolt in and the jacket popped loose of the nut. It is still stuck in the socket. Wheel didn't want to come off so I had to put some weight back on it. Broke the spindle nut loose and now taking a break while I soak the caliper bracket bolts with PB blaster. My favorite spray and its non flammable. After re-watching youtube several times I finally got the belt on right. It needs a sticker under the hood. I waited till I had a new belt.

Got all but one lug nut off using various methods. The last one I used a threaded(left hand) socket but it wasn't tight enough and it only loosened the chrome/stainless coating not the actual nut. Now it won't come back off and a lug nut is stuck in my 7/8" socket. One thing after another. I got new lug nuts for this wheel might have to replace the others eventually. Then I have to hope the spindle nut comes off.

Still broken. Drove my 71 50 miles on the highway yesterday. Forgot just how bad it is. 3200 rpm and no idea just how far off the speedometer is. Know I wasn't going 80/90 mph.
Worked late to get ready for vacation, came home to change clothes before working on car and take a snack break ended up falling asleep watching tv. Good chance for rain tonight and tomorrow.

Hopefully all we have to do is finish packing the car. I'm heading to Michigan tonight after work.

Oil changed, air filter cleaned and re-oiled ( K&N ), detailed, pack, and other assorted details, what am I doing, sitting in the shop drinking a cold beer. Tomorrow I'll be mad at myself, but heck I'm on vacation and it won't take much for me and my two knothead's to get there. Down to the wire as always, self induced! oops old habits, I am on vacation but when it's over I start the real vacation.

Guess I put the belt on wrong. I will try again tomorrow. That still leaves the wheel bearing to deal with. I should probably check the other side to see if it's bad too.

The only thing my car needs now is to be packed up.
I detailed it today and checked all fluids/air pressures.

Started the car started loosing power steering. Looked under the hood pulleys were barely turning. Everything other than the alternator was fine before and it quit from something burning out inside and not the pulley or bearings. I will take the belt off and check the pulleys and maybe get a new belt. Worked late today and then a doctor's appointment, so didn't get anything done.
Don't want to miss the tour this year; likely won't go at all next year if its that far east.
Only good thing is that it happened at home. Would be bad to break down 500 miles from home.

Just took the center section out of the rear end of the Mustang tonight. Getting noisier as days go by. picking up a gasket tomorrow to put in a used unit I have laying around. Hope that works. It's up on stands and apart now.
