Ive been on a few HRPT's over the years...99 East,2000 LH,2001 LH,2005 LH and 2007. Here are a few pics from 2007 when I bummed rides from the freaks.

Its been done successfully too. I had a guy from Holland hitch rides with me and others the whole way to California in 2001. You can score some rides in very cool cars.
