Let's remember those over seas that are not able to be with us to celebrate this great day. If wasn't for people like them we probably not be able to celebrate holidays like this. My hats off to all the service men and women, past and present.

Just got done watching fireworks. Thanks to all those that are serving or have served. Today would have been my Grandpa's birthday too and he was a vet.

Have no fear, there's one stuck in the catbox who did celebrate!

We had a 4th party/memorial service (we lost a soldier last year), all sorts of events:

Water jug race, two five-gallon cans
HMMWV tow
HEMTT tire flip (that rim/tire combo is easily 700-something lbs)
Tug-of-War
Rock Band competition
Wii Bowling competition
Hot wing eating contest
(fake) Beer chug

I did it all...out of ten contestants, third in the water run, second in the HMMWV tow, DNF in the tire flip (bad back), first in Tug of War, tie for first in Rock Band (using bass on Flyleaf's "I'm So Sick" on Hard), sixth on Wii Bowling, first in wing contest, and first in beer chug (and once the competition was over, first to go behind the hangar and get it out of my system...damn I hate beer!!)

Barely tied for first, because puking beer before the contest was over was a DNF and removed points. ;D
