Victor, the Fontana Resort was really nice. I stayed there on the way to Dallas last year. There is also a Microtel in Robbinsville, that is the only "chain" hotel in the town. The motorcycle resort at Deals Gap is on US 129 but has concrete block walls, linoleum floors and steel frame beds. Serviceable, but all of the comforts of a jail cell. The Tapoco Lodge is at the bottom of the Dragon, next to the Fugitive Dam, but is too high $ for me to stay there.Non-denominational car nut.

I found this motel on the web . It looks interesting. I havent called yet about prices or availability.We could stay here and go to the dragon or if you want to do something like Wheels thru Time museum.Then we could meet after and tour BRP to Ashville for the nite.

Nice find for a place to stay Vic. Looks like we have a date and hotel. Now let the count down begin!! Don't like to wish time away but come on srping. I might have to try out the new Nova I got on this road trip. But you all just can't laugh at it. See you in the spring.Comment

Nice find on the hotel Vic. I can take a Chevy or a Pontiac Room. Are we looking to stay in this place for both nights and touring the area or is this going to be a travel from one spot to the next? Someone please confirm the dates for me please. April 18th is Good Friday so that probably is a three day weekend for several folks.Non-denominational car nut.

Sorry I hadnt looked at the calender to see when Easter is. Its going to be the next weekend 27th-29th because we dont want to do this on Easter. So Friday nite at The Gearhead Inn. Then we will tour The Dragon or go to Wheels in Time Museum and Travel north on the Parkway to somewhere??. Info On Gearhead Inn. They have 23 rooms at $79. per night. Its 4.5 mile to Bryson City.to restaurants . I told them we would have about 20 cars on the tour.Comment
