We are traveling US 6 across Ohio and Indiana, through the Amish country on Wednesday. Nothing against Michigan, it was a great drive through there year before last. Thursday, we are running US 6 across Illinois, most of the day.

larry g, we are not familar with northern Ohio or Indiana. My wife wants to travel through the Amish country. Would you recomend running highway 20 instead of highway 6? We want to stay off the interstates and see the country. Thanks.........

For those of you considering taking US-20 to Crown Point, consider taking OH-2 out of Norwalk. It will take you through the Sandusky Bay near Cedar Point and is a pretty decent drive, some cool roadside sights, fireworks, and easily connects to US-20. It's actually how I drive to Detroit from Cleveland. I've never seen much traffic. Check the link. http://goo.gl/maps/pmk0h That's how I'd do it...at least the first part. Not sure if I'd do interstate through Indiana as it is pretty uneventful...

From what I'm reading there are lots of different ways folks are going to run. Are we all going to try to stay together or will it be a see you when we get there? I don't care for interstate driving but I know you have to sometimes but I'd like to stick to as many backroads and small highways as possible.Visit my sons blog:
