I just filled mine out too. Apparently they were listening this year and want to get some input. Maybe the rumors about a big shakeup have a little truth to them. I hope everybody that hasn't filled theirs out yet and plans to will mention how the Long Haulers should be treated a tad bit better than everybody else i.e. parking

I completed the survey truthfully. Knowing the income of the household helps them with their marketing. They don't know exactly how much you make, just a ball park of their demographic.

I told them how badly I hate Chula Vista, and that I liked the tracks and Crown Point. I don't think it will help, but if we don't give feedback they won't know what we liked or disliked.

I left them some constructive feed back. Returning to reality made me realize that I would rather sit in traffic than do what I do every day.

A logistics cordinator would help out with the towns and cities planning. Some one who is familier with PT. Local officials have no clue as to what is about to happen.

The parks ( like Crown Point) are great venues. I personally like the spread out cars and shade trees. The large paved seas with row after row of neatly orginized cars ( and few shady areas) is less appealing. The Dells could have been OK if some one would have spent some time with the right people explaining how things need to be done to make this a good experience for the participants.

Getting the route done 2-3 months early would help locals plan better.

I gave feedback-what I liked and didn't. And told them it would behoove them to take a look at THIS forum...

I also filled it out truthfully, as they're just trying to show cities what type people are attending. Also gave some suggestions on how to get traffic off the highway shoulders (when in line to a venue). Also said liked Crown Point setting, and told them wouldn't be back (have participated 14 times) unless changes made. I hated to say that, but it's the truth for me. I hope they READ all of the surveys.

I filled it out truthfully as well and added some constructive criticism. I don't care if they have a ball park of what I make.

It helps them plan things out. If it turns out a high % of people make a pretty good living (and lets be honest, this isn't a cheap hobby, nor is it cheap to do this tour, my wife and I have spent an entire week in Jamaica at a resort, including airfare, for less than what a lot of long haulers spent), they might be able to up the price a bit to help get larger/better venues, etc. And again, lets be honest in that the $80 they charge for the whole tour is pretty darn cheap and $30 per venue is pretty much in line with what it costs for two people to get in and park at any other large event/show. Not to mention all the crap you get. I probably got $75+ worth of hats, tee shirts, etc at just the Charlotte venue (got to Knoxville too late )

Would everyone be willing to pay $125-150 if it meant better venues? Even at $150, that's still only about $20 per venue, and only about 5% of what most long haulers spent for an entire run.

I just recently got the T5 5 speed mocked up in my 65, so I'm excited about 5 gears, maybe 21/22 mpg highway? and a possible long haul trip???

I filled out my survey truthfully as well, and tried to give some constructive criticism, along much the same lines as most everyone else. Maybe shorter drives between venues, and dedicated long hauler parking, along with some meaningful traffic control will help.

In the spirit of hoping they also read this thread (I would hope so) for constructive idea's, here's a few items I know of.

Kick-off party didn't have enough food. My friends paid the $300 and were told they were out of food? They did get some eventually after finding someone with PT, but didn't they plan food for all that paid the $300?

Same friends at one stop were told long haul parking was full. Again, didn't they know how many had paid the $300? I thought that's what the money (in advance) was for? So they knew.

They also told me at a Radisson they stayed at (host hotel) the restaurant actually closed early (rope put up) due to running out of food.

I myself (with them) experienced a shortage of food also, at the ISLE Casino Buffet. Waiting in line a 1/2 hour minimum, I paid full price, yet they had ran out of BBQ ribs (oh I like ribs) and no carved beef either. Roll tray had "1" in it... They said they were trying to get some turkey out soon. Great planning - didn't they know the hotel was full? Not Family Events fault, but were estimates of how many would stay there way off?

Also had a small breakfast stop in Iowa that ran out of some breakfast items. See a pattern here?

Hot Rod / Family Events needs to talk to MORE people (mayors, city officials, business owners) via a detailed letter, to many different officials in the same town, hoping "one" reads it, and it states all what to expect. And follow up on it - to be sure the information does get out. How? Have the person running the route stop at multiple places along the way (send 4 people - to split up the talking to them part) and have them be sure the cities & places to eat - have the "correct numbers" of how many cars / people to expect. It simple sounds like correct information is NOT getting to the right people - so this HAS to be figured out. Want me to do it? Put me on payroll... or just get it done. Sorry for the rant. It's just an event that I love. Or used to...

I didn't get one, and we registered 3 cars. So, if you have not filled it out yet could you also mention that they need to actually go and check out the Hotels they give us to choose from? I was disappointed in several of the ones we stayed in. Especially Mt. Olympus in the Dells, it was a Dump!

Just did mine. Praised the drive around Lake Lure & the Crown Point venue & made comments on LH parking & @ The Dells. Didn't put income down. How much did I spend on gas & how many stops for gas? No idea & probably don't want to, but will know when the credit card bill arrives.

I have often fantasized about driving on a golf course but it typically included a motorcycle and higher velocities.
