Auto Trader Classics Find: A Jeep Wagoneer With a SEMA Past and an Under Hood Surprise

As we prepare to head out and tackle the 2010 SEMA show, we found a really cool Jeep Wagoneer that was part of the extravaganza a few years back. Built by Popular Mechanics magazine, the truck combines the iconic styling of the Jeep Wagoneer and the modern underpinnings of a Hemi powered Dodge Durango. It actually creates a Durango that would probably outsell every other SUV on the market by looks alone!

Sometimes these “re-body” projects come off looking a bit strange, but in our eyes, this one is as right as rain. We’d have gone with the old school Jeep wheels to totally sell the look, but the five spoke Durango pieces aren’t too bad on the eyes. It appears that the engine is stock and the interior was given some Popular Mechanics themed touches, but overall this is truck we’d cruise all day long. For less than $30,000 and (we’re assuming) damned near close to zero miles, we think it is a great buy.

A ProCharger would look really good under the hood too, right?
