While the weather has sucked for large portions of the country over the last couple weeks, things appear to be making a gradual turn for the better. It won’t be chamber of commerce weather, but it will be good enough to wrench, cruise, and raise some mechanical hell. Lots of you out there in readerland have to be chomping at the bit like we are to have some fun, so what are you doing?
From cruise nights, to car shows, to rod runs, drag races, autocrosses, truck pulls, and junkyard adventures, we want to know how you are spending your day or two of free time with or on your junk. Chad is down at the Goodguys event in Tennessee, after completing the week of excitement with the 48hr Camaro project and I’ll be wrenching on Goliath, finishing up the last couple of doo-dads I need to get the truck inspected by the state and deemed safe for use on the roads…which I’ve driven about 400 miles on already. Whoopsie doodle.
Spill the beans and tell us what you’ll be driving, racing, wrenching on, or laying under this weekend!
I’ll be removing the secondary pump cams on a pair of sideways Holleys to attempt to reduce “douching” the plugs on garage starts. Oh, yeah, it has a 6-71 on a 502 BBC.
‘Wish I could go to Eagle Field, tomorrow, However there’s gonna be live streaming video.
Search on “Eagle Field Drags” if you’re interested.
Continuing on with the bodywork on our 68 Cougar.
they are calling for rain here in so. oregon, I will TRY and finish the car trailer drop door. I really like the 48 hour CAMARO build, way cool. I pimp your web site all the time. Good luck on the pick up.
Impala’s CPP brake booser croaked. Drive down to get replacement. Caprice is getting my spare 750 double pumper. Monte Carlo has a new(er) parking light lens. Reglue the mirror to the windshield. Maybe stick my Holley 3310 on it. Maybe try to polish Earl Scheib paint on it.
I’m rewiring the front half of the Nissan. When I put a new fender on, I did not secure the front wiring harness. It rode on the tire for about 2 weeks, I kept blowing turn signal and head light fuses, finally it dawned on me to check ALL the wires. I have a lot of soldering to do.
I’ll be picking up the Chevelle from the exhaust shop and raising loud hell on streets!
If I’m lucky, the Mustang’s tailpan is gonna get blacked out and the “gas filler cap” is going to be converted from the GT to the V6. Might shave the GT emblems too.
I’m going to do some shakedown cruising in my Chevelle. I may even dust some cobwebs off the GN. I’ve already replaced the tie rods and control arms on my John Deere lawn tractor. Here in the Florida panhandle we’ve been having glorious weather ever since those Tornados hit AL.
I just finished replacing the floors in my dump truck last weekend, so as long as the rain holds off I’ll be diggin ditches to install electrical conduit so I can finally get power in my shop. Woot!
Other than that, I think there is a Nitro Jam event on Saturday at Pittsburgh Raceway Park, not sure yet if I’ll make it down to that.
Yes indeed, this Weekend it?

Hopefullly I will be installing heads on the Ram….fun
If the weather holds out I’ll see about replacing the cab corners on my S-10. Then see about swapping the fuel tank on my Mustang.
Best case I’ll take off the rear control arms, If I can get the darn bolts off.
