An Auction Screwup Or A Surprise Score? Cleetus Gets Suckered On An C6 Corvette!

I’ve only bought one car at an auction. The truth was that I was looking to get my then teenage brother a car, I had a budget…and after I got out-bid on everything else I tried to score, I dragged home a 1999 Mercury Cougar. Yes, he still speaks to me, and he does say more than “you suck.” Auctions are weird to me. You look over a car, make a call on whether or not you’re willing to shell out any kind of cash, and then hope that you don’t get absolutely screwed over in the bidding process. Sooner or later, I might hit the auction block again, but always look over the gems you are willing to lay the money down on.

Cleetus didn’t look over the gem he bought. All he saw was “cheap C6 Corvette” and started hammering the “bid” button like he was playing Wack-A-Mole until he won it. $10,000 for a C6 isn’t too bad…but he had never laid eyes on the whole car. He knew that it had taken a thump up front and needed some repairs. He didn’t know that the engine that was sitting in the bay was made of iron, not aluminium. Have you ever seen someone get buyer’s remorse in real-time? You’ll get to see it here. But you’ll also hear the voice of cautious optimism coming from his assistant, Cooper, who reminds him that iron block LS engines can hang with a bit of boost.

What’s to become of this car is yet to be determined, but for now, just enjoy someone else’s acquisition issues at your leisure. It could be worse…

I don’t think he really cared .He has gone about as far as he can go with Leroy the Vette cart .If he is going to go any faster he needs aero from a car body, a powerglide ,and a much sturdier solid axle . I think after they blow the motor that’s what’s going to happen .

Jealousy for a young guy that has a job most could only dream of. Don’t like him, don’t watch him.
