David Newbern FINALLY Takes His First Car, That He Just Recently Bought Back, For A Cruise Around His Home Town

A couple of months ago we saw David Newbern buy his first car, a 1964 Impala, back after selling it years and years ago. The car is a very low mileage 283 small block powered car, backed by a Powerglide transmission, which may not sound very exciting but is awesome. This car has only 55,000 miles on it and although it does need a few things it is still ready to drive and enjoy. I dig it. And again, the fact that it is “just” a 283/PG car doesn’t mean it isn’t fun.

My 1966 Bel Air station wagon was originally 283 and powerglide equipped and ran like a champ and was nice to drive even if it wasn’t fast. It had no problem keeping up with modern traffic and actually got 18 mpg doing it. A glide isn’t nearly as bad as some folks think it is.

Video Description:

In this episode, we get my first car which is a 1964 Impala back on the road after I purchased it back a few months ago. We put the interior back together and rebuild the ignition system. The car has 55k original miles on it. It has a 283 ci engine with a two-speed Powerglide transmission. Thanks for watching.
