The 2017 Easter Jeep Safari Concepts Have Been Unveiled! Check Them Out Here!

Jeep has pulled the covers off of the fleet of concepts and special one-off builds that they will be bringing to the 2017 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. With the event kicking off on April 8th, 2017, Jeep has cut it pretty close but they like to keep these little gems hidden until the last minute. After all, they are supposed to be a treat for the legions of fans that have supported the Jeep nameplate for decades while simultaneously using the opportunity to market Mopar accessories available for customer vehicles. Check out this year’s fleet and let us know which one you’d pick to roll around Moab with!

1. Grand One

This 1993 ZJ might look stock, but there are some subtle changes that a sharp eye can pick up. The 5.2/automatic Grand Cherokee was located on Craigslist, brought in, cleaned up, given a blue paint job with a light woodgrain treatment on the sides, a slight stretch in the wheelbase, a two-inch lift kit, and some retro-1990s touches, like a car phone you could beat someone to death with and a GameBoy.

2. Safari

“The family-focused Jeep Safari concept is all about bringing the outdoors in while keeping the doors and roof on, with a special emphasis on giving the backseat passengers a great view.” With see-through “windoors” made of lightweight aluminum and clear vinyl, seeing the outdoors won’t be a problem in this Pentastar V6-powered Wrangler. Hardware includes front and rear Dana 44s, BFGoodrich Mud Terrain KM2 tires, full-length skid plates, steel bumpers front and rear, and the body length has been shrunk to make the Safari more nimble.

3. Quicksand

This wild little Wrangler is packing a Mopar 392ci crate Hemi V8 underneath thatbody, backed up to a Getrag six-speed manual trans. Set up as a hot rodder’s off-roader, it includes a staggered tire setup (32″ front, 37″ rear BFG Mud Terrain KM2s) on 18″ wheels with knockoffs. And yes, that is a Moon tank on the front bumper! There are sand dunes that need to be conquered, and the Quicksand is the Jeep to take care of them

4. Trailpass

The all-new Jeep Compass gets the accessories workover this year from Jeep Performance Parts.. The Trailpass sports a 1.5″ lift, 18″ wheels on Continental TerrainContact tires, and a host of accessories, including a Jeep/Thule roof basket, cross rails, rock rails, Katzkin leather seats and more. The 2.4L Tigershark four-cylinder and nine-speed automatic handle powertrain duties.

5. Switchback

Another parts display concept, the Switchback is a mixture of Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts pieces come together on one Wrangler. A four-inch lift with front and rear Dana 44 axles supports the JK, while Fox shocks with remote reservoir shocks keep motion under control. The 3.6L Pentastar V6-powered Switchback has steel bumpers front and rear, a Rubicon winch, an axle-back exhaust, 17″ concept wheels on 37 inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain KM2 tires, concept hood and half-doors, concept “Safari” hard top and roof rack system, and Jeep Performance Parts fender flares and spare tire carrier, among other accessories.

6. Luminator

Lights, lights and more lights. This JK is all about lumens, and it’s got them by the ton. 7″ LED projector bi-function headlights, LED tails, A-pillar-mounted LED spotlights, LED foglights on the bumper controlled by the steering angle, auxiliary spotlights overhead, behind the windshield, LED conversions for the stock fog lights and front turn signals, a scanning LED light bar with spot and follow tech on the hood, and a CHMSL with three LED colors out back (red for stop, amber for 1-3 MPH, green for 3-25 MPH, and a white floodlight setup. That’s just the lights…other toys include a roof-mounted solar panel, a drone landing pad and a “capacitive touch interactive display on the driver’s side rear window linked to GPS and internet services.”

7. CJ66

Last and certainly not least is the CJ66, a mix of Jeep TJ (frame), CJ (a Tuxedo Park 1966 Jeep body kit) and bits and pieces from the Wrangler JK and you get the visuals. A 383 horsepower 5.7L Hemi, six-speed manual, Dana 44s front and rear, Jeep Performance Parts 17″ beadlock wheels on 35″ BFGoodrich tires provide the movement, and Mopar 10th Anniversary Wrangler JK Rubicon Bumper Kits, Jeep Performance Parts skid and front bumper plates and concept Jeep Performance Parts rock rails keep everything protected.

BMT…you should have Freddy Fenders song “Wasted days and wasted nights” playing in the background. FCA would never do any of this shit, it doesn’t go well with Sergio’s silk suits. Move on.
