Check It Out: A 1978 Dodge Monaco That Wasn’t Crashed Or Turned Into A Fake Cop Car!

Has anybody ever bothered to count just how many 1975-78 Mopar B-body sedans were killed off in movies and on television? Lots of people know how many General Lee Chargers were launched into the scrapyard, but you would be busy for a month at least trying to determine just how many Dodge Monacos and Plymouth Fury sedans were jumped, rolled, crashed, or sank for the purpose of entertainment. One can only imagine a yard full of nothing but demolished metal that used to be part of Chrysler’s sales bank…

While the inner hopeful was wishing for a 440-spec police package, we have to be the bearer of bad news: it’s your everyday, average 318 underneath that hood. In stock form, it’s only impressive feature is it’s dependability. But a 408 stroker, or better yet big-block swap, needs to be in order. Back in the day, these were just ugly sedans. But would you rather have this or an old Intrepid squad car? Honestly, the more we look at these B-body sedans, the better they look to us! This one is priced to move and while it’s nowhere near perfect, for a daily, we’d rock it all year long!
