This Australian Dodge Phoenix Is Going From Derelict To Big-Block Cruiser For A Cause!

First off, how surprised are you that a 1963 Dodge of any type was in Australia as a local-sale car, complete with right-hand drive? All of the American manufacturers stuck their nose into the country during the 1960s, but we didn’t know that the early B-body Mopars had made it around the world, especially with a push-button automatic system intact. But they did, and the guys at Street Machine are putting one together for a cause.

The town of Cobar has been raising money for a World War 1 monument and the Running on Empty festival has been the vehicle to raise the funds. It’s also become a wildly popular cruise in, car show kind of deal that is currently underway as of writing. The Dodge Phoenix that the guys have planned to take to the show is a bit…well, incomplete is being nice. The car looks like your typical Arizona find, great sheetmetal to work with but everything else is just about questionable. So, they are taking the job head-on: with 21 days to get the car together, a 440 swap and other work has to be done for the car to cruise from Melbourne to Cobar. Here’s the first installment of the build!
