Craigslist Find: No Speed Racer Nooooooooooooo

Craigslist Find: No Speed Racer Nooooooooooooo

Do you like acid? Do you like Corvettes? If the answer to both of those questions is yes, than we have a deal for you! For nearly thirty thousand of your hard earned dollars, you could be driving off of the lot in a 1996 Corvette made to look like the Mach 5 used in the 2008 bizarro Speed Racer movie. If you want to buy this car you forever forfeit the right to break the chops of “ricers” who use nutty body kits on their cars.

The swanky appearing Woodland Hills Quality Motors are the folks behind the Craigslist ad we spotted for this car. They claim that the car has only 57,000 miles on it and is a, “crowd stopping, camera clicking favorite” on the street. You can take that two ways, as we think the Elephant Man also attracted plenty of attention back in his day.

Speed Racer was an epic financial disaster at the box office, earning a reported $30 million when it took more than $120 million to produce. Some stuff should just stay animated. By all appearances the movie appeared to be a live action mescaline trip (or so we’ve been told what that would look like).

Since we’re all pals here, you can admit it. Would you buy this ‘Vette?
