Check Out This 1948 Ford COE Ramp Truck We Found On Craigslist!

Our pal, and epic BangShifter, Dannie Pinard sent this ad for a 1948 COE Ramp Truck to us yesterday with nothing more in the email than “I want this ramp truck…”. We couldn’t agree more. The cool thing is that Dannie has been in a car buying mood lately, so it wouldn’t surprise us at all if he showed up driving it soon. We loooooovvvvvvveeeeee Ramp Trucks around here, and this one couldn’t be cleaner.

This particular 1948 Ford COE Ramp Truck was built on a later model Ford F350 Chassis out back, but has the engine now mounted behind the cab instead of under it. It’s powered by a 460 that is backed by a C6 automatic and Dana 70 rearend. Up front is Chevy C30 front frame rails, suspension, and steering. We congratulate the builder on keeping it almost all Ford. The bed on it is ultra trick and custom built. The seller claims that it is driver ready and can be driven anywhere with your car in tow on the back. We approve whole heartedly and want it almost as bad as Dannie does.

Nice mix of parts and keeping it mostly brand specific. Its real hard to beat the C/P 30 front end though.

Are you insinuating that he took one too many tokes on the Barrett-Jackson bong? I’m thinking $25k might be a little on the high-side of reasonable, but I wouldn’t walk away from a $25k deal feeling like I dropped the soap at Rahway State Penitentiary. But hey, I couldn’t swing it for either price, right now, so who am I to say?

It would be cool although expensive to haul my bracket car to the track on the back of this beauty. I’d be the envy of my competitors as I’d pass through the pits to the parking area. No doubt about it: I’d definitely be sporting a mile-wide smile.
